IEEE PES CHAPTER
The Power and Energy Society is the world’s largest forum for
sharing the latest technological developments in the electric
power industry. This Society provides a great platform to empower
development of technology & software in all areas of Electric
Power and Energy including generation, transmission, distribution
and utilization to provide a reliable, resilient, safe,
cost-effective and sustainable electricity supply system to the
Energy Conservation is a need of the hour. PES funds research in
sustainable sources of energy. PES members also gain access to
the IEEE PES Resource Center, a library with hundreds of technical
reports, tutorials, conference videos, webinars, presentations and
more. Moreover, PES offers networking opportunities, access to
peer-reviewed technical journals and educational materials that
help our members stay up-to-date on the latest advances.
The PES Society at BMSCE not only aims at encouraging young
learners to pursue research in the field of Power and Energy but
also helps students gain the required skills for the industry.
Various Workshops, technical talks and seminars would be conducted
along with frequent industrial trips making the society a great
hub for innovation and networking.
IEEE STUDENT BRANCH
Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers is an entity
aimed at inculcating the sprirt of wisdom and knowledge. BMSCE
IEEE Student Branch was founded in 2009 under the guidance of our
first branch counselor and former vice principal, Dr. Ravishankar
Deekshit. The founding chair for the student branch was Ashwith
Jerome Rego of the EEE department. With events and workshops being
conducted throughout the year, we make sure our members are kept
up to date with the evolving needs of our technological world.
In the initial years, the student branch mainly focused on
workshops and technical talks. Over the course of 11 years the
student branch has grown immensely to what it is today.
Our current chair is Mr. Aditya MG and the vice chair is Mr.
Rahul Pramod Krupani.
With such achievements we have established ourselves as THE club
to be in BMSCE and strive to grow every year and have been doing
so consistently over the years.
IEEE TEMS CHAPTER
IEEE TEMS defines Technology and Engineering Management along the
following perspectives: Moving Product/Services from Idea to
Market, Identifying and Implementing Successful Projects,
Integrating Technology for Capability and Productivity, Mastering
the Challenges of Regulations, Policies, and Standards.
The Field of Interest of the TEMS encompasses the management
sciences and practices required for defining, implementing, and
managing engineering and technology. TEMS student chapter of BMSCE
intends to bridge the gap between Engineering and Management.
The main goal of our Student Chapter is to equip an engineer with
technical problem-solving ability along with business acumen and
It is apt that the first student chapter of TEMS of India to start
in our college, one of the top colleges in Bangalore, which is the
start-up hub of India. The student chapter has the goal of
providing a stepping stone for future entrepreneurs by encouraging
them to hone and develop the skills necessary to successfully give
wings to their ideas.
