BMSCE IEEE ANNUAL GENERAL BODY MEETING

BMSCE IEEE Student Branch held its Annual General- Body Meeting (AGM) on 10th February 2018 at BMS Library Auditorium. The proceedings of the event started from 2:00 pm and went up till 6:00 pm. The event was publicised through posters around the college and publicity message was sent to as many people as possible. It was open to IEEE as well as NON-IEEE members. Invitation letter and Emails laying down the agenda of the event were sent in advance to the various Heads of Department (HOD).

To quote from the Email,

“The event will consist of felicitation of the EXECOM 17-18, induction of a new managerial body for the year 18-19, presentation of reports of the events conducted in the year 17-18 and presentation of the agenda for the year 18-19.”

The event started with the felicitation of all the dignitaries with a bouquet. They shared their experience of working with the previous student EXECOM of BMSCE IEEE, showered on us their golden blessings and wished us all the best for all our future endeavors.

The Dean BMSCE, Dr. Ravishankar Deekshit was honoured with the certificate of Best Student Branch Award of Bangalore Section which was bagged by BMSCE IEEE for the session 2017-18. The entire previous EXECOM was praised by the Dean with a certificate and a momento as without their dedication and hardwork, BMSCE would not have witnessed this proud moment.

The activity report of 2017-18 was reported by the immediate past Chairman, Mr. Prashant Agarwal. He talked about the functioning of BMSCE IEEE and gave a brief review of all the events held during their office. He also spoke about the Special Interest Groups (SIGs) which included Python, AVR, Ethical Hacking and AeroDesign. Basically one entire year and their success story was what was briefed to us.

Then, the present chairman BMSCE IEEE, Mr. Shreeguro Shreshti and present Vice chair, Ms. Aditi Awasthi presented the enthusiastic audience with a power point presentation which introduced the changes that the new EXECOM is planning to implement, they gave a brief talk about the introduction of new SIGs and the events planned for the session 2018-19.

After that, the new EXECOM was introduced by Mr. Prashant Agarwal which included the post of Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary, Joint Secretary and 6 Student Activity Coordinators (SAC). This was followed by presenting the SIG Instructors with a Certificate of Appreciation for the selfless effort they had put in to make the SIGs a huge success.

Then, a vote of thanks was given by Mr. Prashant Agarwal where he talked about his experience with working with his team and he expressed his gratitude to all the people whose constant support was a blessing. He then wished the new EXECOM all the best for the coming journey of one year. Finally, the distribution of certificates to students who had successfully completed the attendance requirement and passing marks of the final test for the Python Programming SIG, Python For Hackers SIG, Aero Design SIG and AVR SIG were given certificates signed by the Branch Counselor and their respective Course Instructor. This was the official end of AGM 2018.

After that, there was a long meeting of the previous as well as the new student EXECOM members. The entire functioning of BMSCE IEEE, the whole procedure to a successful event, the importance of teamwork, proper time management, instructions on how to manage things efficiently and a layout of the series of all the events to be held during the course span was all explained by the old EXECOM in a very detailed fashion over dinner. Overall, the event was a success with the agenda laid out was fulfilled.
