BMSCE IEEE, in association with BMSCE Illuminati Organisation, organised IEEE Day in the college campus on the 11th of October 2017
The day was inaugurated by the Dean and sponsorship for the event was done by Marks and Spencer
IEEE Day involved various events and competitions conducted by several clubs of BMSCE and also, a cultural performance to cap it all off
The event was widely publicized both on social media and in-campus in the form of attractive posters.
Events and Competitions-
1.Inksanity, The literary society, conducted a debate competition in the CS hall at 1.45 pm. Participants were split into groups of 5 and each group was given a disputable topic. The best from each round advanced to the next round.
2.Rotaract Club of BMSCE organised Open Mic and put up a stall, Minute To Win It, which, as the name suggests featured one minute games at the C-bench at 1:00 PM. The Open Mic was an instant hit featuring all sorts of talent. It saw people singing, grooving to music, reciting slam poetry and musicians showing off their skills.
3.The Quiz Club of BMSCE hosted a quiz competition at the MESH Hall at 1:45 PM. The questions covered topics ranging from World of Science, Inventions, Technology to Brands, Entertainment and Social Media. It was a team event and teams were put through various rounds of quizzing.
4.Pravrutthi hosted IMPROV at the B.S. Narayan Hall at 1:30 PM. The event saw teams take up the challenge of improvisational acting. The participants were required to establish the use of a prop in a given situation.
5.The Fashion Team of BMSCE held a Head Gear Making and Makeup/Face-painting contest at 1:00 PM in the passage between Library and CR Block, that saw people showcase their artistic brushstrokes on a canvas.
6,CodeLocked organized a Mobile Gaming contest aimed at gamers at 2:00 PM in the CAD Lab. The Mobile Games played were CSGO and Mini Militia. The event received wide participation.
7.The Photography Club of BMSCE held a photography competition for all budding photographers. The competition required participants to spread all over the campus and click photographs
8.The Mountaineering Club of BMSCE hosted activities like Rappelling and Wall Climbing at the CR Block and Gopi Wall respectively at 1:00 PM. The event was packed with adrenaline and gusto of the students.
9.The Fine Arts Club of BMSCE put up a stall at the library lawn and exhibited their work. Celebrating art and recognizing its significance has always been the theme for FAC and this occasion gave us the opportunity to bring out the expression of talent (Also known as art) and potential that the students of BMSCE possess and portray it to the thousands in attendance. The club had arranged for on spot treats, like face painting, henna design and tattoo making which was well accepted by the crowd. The efforts of the club members were reflected by the way the stall was organized and this was reciprocated by the response we received. The event was a grand success with a large number of participants for all the competitions. The cultural performance at the end was a cherry on the cake.
