On February 20th, BMSCE IEEE organized a talk on the importance of IEEE standards and a brief understanding of 5G and the standards around it.
The talk was delivered by Mr. Munir Mohammed, who currently works as a Program Specialist at the Communications Society at IEEE.
A lot of BMS students from the Electronics and Communication department and a few faculty attended to learn more about the field of 5G. He also spoke about how the various ways in which engineering students could get involved in developing standards and maybe even contribute to them.
It was organized in the Library Auditorium and Dr. Suma M N, Branch Counselor, BMSCE IEEE was present. In attendance were other faculty from ECE department. The event lasted from about 2 PM to 4 PM. It was followed by a question and answer session where the students clarified their doubts regarding IEEE standards. The event was open for both IEEE and non-IEEE members.
