BMSCE IEEE conducted a visit to National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) on the occasion of National Science Day on 28th February 2018.Registrations for the event was done through google forms which was sent across through Social Media and within a span of 15 hours we received 52 registrations. This event was free for IEEE as well as NON-IEEE members.
All students were asked to assemble in the Rock Garden of BMSCE. The transportation was arranged by BMSCE IEEE itself. On reaching the destination, the excitement of all the students knew no end.
The Science Exhibition was one of its kind. Stalls of all sort were pitched up: Biophysics, NeuroScience, Biochemistry, Genetics, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Microbiology etc. Each one of the exhibition topic were explicitly explained using 3-D models. The knowledge imparted to any interested student in the stimulated time was worth praising. Then, we also got the opportunity to hold brain outside of its skull, heart outside of rib cage, intestines and livers. All were preserved in Formaldehyde and any interested person was allowed to hold it and admire it. There were quizzes and games where many of our college students won prizes. Refreshments were arranged for and the day ended with speech and vote of thanks of Dignitaries.
We all returned back to our college with loads more of knowledge and experience than we had left. All of us understood the true meaning of “Science without religion is lame. Religion without Science is blind.”
