BMSCE IEEE Student Branch conducted a 3-day e-Waste Collection Drive in the
campus of BMS College of Engineering from 14th to 16th of March, 2017. The
drive was conducted in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of BMSCE and was
publicized via social media.
The venue and timing were fixed as C-Bench from 9:30 am to 4 pm. The entire event proceeded smoothly as scheduled.
The e-Waste Drive was an open invitation to all students and faculty to dispose of their electronic waste. This included old batteries, unused wires, headphones, broken phones and tablets, and circuit boards. Boxes were set up near the CBench and BMSCE IEEE volunteers along with Rotaract Club members remained in these locations to explain the importance of the drive and encourage more participation.
The event reached a huge number of people and in three days, BMSCE IEEE was able to collect three whole bags of electronic waste. We were very pleased to have such wonderful participation from students and teachers alike.
Ultimately, the e-Waste collection drive was a tremendous success and BMSCE IEEE is very happy at the successful completion of the event and the huge outreach of the drive
