jQuery, Advanced JS Workshop
conducted by BMSCE IEEE in collaboration with The Department
of Computer Science and Engineering.The objective of the
workshop was to help students gain familiarity with the
Abstrakt It was conceived to give experience of paper
abstract /summary writing to introduce students to the
skills of reading and summarising technical papers. This was
followed by a brief workshop to serve as an introduction to
writing technical papers and the skills required to write
technical papers by Venkatesh M.
Alternate Universe, The Astronomy Society of BMS College of
Engineering in Association with BMSCE IEEE had organised
TARDIS, an astronomical quiz. The Registration fees was Rs.
50 and the Winning amount was Rs.1000 for first place and
Rs.500 for second place.
Paper Presentation Competition
Paper presentation was the most diverse event in terms of
inter collegiate participation which was judged by Mr.
Muralidhar S and Mr. Nandan Kumar K V. 30 participants
forming 12 teams presented papers one by one. Prof. H. K.
Anasuya Devi from the prestigious Indian Institute of
Science graced the event with her presence.
Technical writing is an important skill for college
students. It is essential for students who wish to write and
publish a technical paper. In consideration of the above,
BMSCE IEEE organised a workshop on LaTeX and technical
writing during PhaseShift 2016. The workshop was instructed
by Dr. Subramanian Ravi Shankar.
The astronomy and astrophysics society of BMSCE, in
association with BMSCE IEEE, hosted a workshop on
Astrophotography. The host for the workshop was Mr. Johaan
Nishanth. He is an amateur astronomer and a well appreciated
The Annual General Meeting is an annual event where a past
report on the previous year’s activities and achievements of
BMSCE IEEE are presented. AGM 2016 was held on 20th April.
The immediate past Chairperson ‘Yashunandan Sureka’ gave the
report. The event was concluded after giving the vote of
thanks and conducting a small meeting of the EXECOM.
Raspberry Pi Workshop
A two day hands-on workshop on Raspberry Pi was conducted on
11th and 12th November 2016 with an aim of exposing
engineering undergraduate students to various technologies
around Raspberry Pi.
Talk on IEEE Standards
On February 20th, BMSCE IEEE organized a talk on the
importance of IEEE standards and a brief understanding of 5G
and the standards around it. The talk was delivered by Mr.
Munir Mohammed, who currently works as a Program Specialist
at the Communications Society at IEEE.
